As the seasons change and the temperatures begin to drop, our homeless population begin to look to the ministry of Abraham Connection to find support for their most basic physical needs. Church Without Walls partners with Abraham Connection by providing one dinner a month for those whom have need. The shelter will open up soon and we have been asked to partner again this year.
Here is how you can help:
Our church is responsible for cooking and serving dinner on the 1st Tuesday of every month. You can help by:
- Finding time in you schedule to help serve the meal. It only takes 1-3 people to serve and only about an hour to an hour and a half from start to finish.
- Providing ingredients for the meals other people will be preparing and serving. Maybe you can buy the meat for the meal, or help provide a side dish.
- You can pray for the impact of the meal. We know that all people must eat, but food is not their greatest need. Each person's greatest need is a relationship with God through Christ. You can pray that Abraham Connection not only takes care of the physical, but that the spiritual needs are met, as well.
Mattie Sue Maciel is our hospitality ministry leader for our church, and has graciously offered to be the point person for our meals at Abraham Connection. We remind people as we get closer to our time to serve, but please begin looking at your calendar now and marking off the 1st Tuesday of each month starting in November and going through March or April.
Thank you for considering serving in this wonderful ministry alongside your CWW church family.
